Quality Control Technician - Actemium Panel Shop Toronto

Actemium Panel Shop Toronto is seeking a team player who has experience with quality assurance / quality control in control panel design and fabrication or in electrical, controls and automation systems design in manufacturing environments. Target segments include food, beverage, life science and water/wastewater industries.
What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to oversee the meticulous administration of quality control on our assembled control panels. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our product meets the highest standards before reaching our valued customers.
- Administer the quality control process for assembled control panels.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal project teams regarding all quality deliverables.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce or eliminate panel design and fabrication errors.
- Panel Validation
- Verify proper termination and seating of wires at components and terminal blocks.
- Set 24VDC power supply outputs to achieve the correct values at DC power distribution.
- Perform point-to-point wire termination for PLC or Relay Logics control panels.
- Validate the installation of wiring labels and tags, ensuring alignment with schematics.
- Validate that wiring and components adhere to electrical schematics, operates as designed, and complies with local code requirements.
- Validate components through functionality testing, relay logic functions, and simulations.
- Set parameters on VFD/Soft Starters
- Conduct testing on 208/240/600V 3 phase
- Perform high pot testing using Dielectric tester
- Run software logic on PLC panels, including I/O configuration, communication IP address setup, firmware updates, and project downloads.
- FAT Coordination
- Check I/O using software from manufacturing tests, recording digital and analog signals according to FAT documents.
- Prepare panels for customer FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and coordinate dates with Internal Project Manager.
- Representative of Panel Shop during customer FAT sessions.
- Compliance to Local Code
- Prepare and complete CSA or UL checklist documentation.
- Print and apply CSA or UL logo according to the panel tag and nameplate.
- Panel Documentation
- Ensure alignment of as-built drawings with the actual panel, providing redlines to the electrical design team for updates, and ensuring final as-build drawing set is set inside panel prior to shipping.
- Capture high resolution images of the completed panels and file accordingly.
- Assist in crafting marketing materials that emphasize our commitment to quality and showcasing the pride we take in delivering exceptional panels.

Minimum Qualifications
- Recruiting applicants within the Toronto/GTA area
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or College Diploma
- 1+ years’ experience working in Quality Control
- Experience with Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid class G driver’s license and personal transportation to travel to customer job sites
About your working environment
- Will be required to wear protective equipment in designated areas such as: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed safety boots
- May be exposed to cold, heat and humidity, loud noise levels, and dust
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Local travel (Greater Toronto Area)
- Overtime as required

The Panel Shop team consists of a high-performance group of managers, engineers, and technicians.

Candidates will be considered based on years of engineering experience, specifically in the food, beverage, and life science and water/wastewater industries.
